I'm an auntie again

Congratulations to my brother-in-law and his wife on their new little addition. My new niece was born yesterday afternoon. I got to go see them at the hospital yesterday and hold my new little niece. Her name is Kali and she was 7 pounds 5 ounces. She is just gorgeous and so tiny. I love her!
They have a two and a half year old as well and she is now a big sister! Yay Lexi! Good luck Kali with your sister. Lexi might torture you ;)

Got to hang out with Lexi today while Blaine went to go get Christie and baby to bring back home. That little girl is full of energy.

Backpacks, pencils, and busy schedules

It's that time of the year again. Back to school!

I am back at the elementary school in kindergarten and boy oh boy, do we have some interesting kids. I am already exhausted and ready for the year to be over. There are several in the class that are going to be challenging.

I also started my second job just recently. I work at a company called Trumpet Behavioral Health. I work with kids with autism. My friend Jenny also works there. Thanks Jen for letting me know about it. I am really enjoying it. It's something completely new for me. Those kids just bring a smile to my face.

It's back to school not only for my kids I work with but for me as well. Boo! I hate it. I wish I could be done already. Today was my first day and got to meet my teacher. I'm taking math for elementary education.

Well I'm going to be super busy this semester with all that going on. Wish me luck!

I love my mom!

My mom came to visit us for a week. She left yesterday morning. It was so nice to have her here with me. It had been a while since I last saw her.
We did have a little bump during the beginning of her stay but we got over it and I was nicer to her. We had a great time. I got to go to the temple with her on Thursday. That was so nice. We also did some shopping of course and got our nails done like usual.
I am so bummed I didn't get any pictures while she was in town :(

I love my mom so much. She means so much to me. I admire her for how strong of a woman she is. She has been a wonderful example to me. She is so sweet and nice to others. She is my everything. I wish we lived closer. I miss her so much. I love you mom! Thank you for coming to visit. Be strong! We will see each other again soon. I love you!

New Truck

Guess what!!
We got a truck! Yup! So now I now longer have to drive the 91' Oldsmobile. Woohoo!!! :)
I get to drive our 2008 red Suzuki Grand Vitara aka Suzy or Suz. I absolutely love her!
Drew now has his new truck. He loves it! I do too. The truck is a 2004 Ford F-150.

Oh hey!....still not embarrassed.

Oh boy!
Well, yet another mom from Pretty Wicked Moms has tweeted me. Sweet!
Proof:

Happy Anniversary!

Well this is late but it was our anniversary on July 15th! I can't believe we have been married for two years now. This last year went by way fast. It has been another wonderful one.
We celebrated by going up to Denver for a couple nights. We went to the zoo and aquarium. I loved the zoo!! The aquarium sucked. I'm not jut saying that because I am used I the Monterey aquarium. Drew even said it sucked. Do not go!!!
We went out to eat and went shopping at the mall. It was a nice mini vacation. Oh and we also went horseback riding. That was so much fun! It was pricy but so worth it. We rode for an hour at Garden of the Gods. It was beautiful.
Well here's to yet another year and many more to come! I have loved every minute of it. I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband. I love you Drew! Happy Anniversary!

Embarrassed? Not even!

Well little ladies and any gents out there there is a part two to the last post.
Pretty Wicked Moms first season is over. Bummer! Anyways, I had tweeted something and another one of the moms favorited my tweet, followed me, and tweeted me back. A freakin follow!! Sweet! And I didn't even beg or ask for a follow.

Ok I should be done with this little adventure for now. Although, I did tweet another mom from the show just before writing this post. Maybe she will respond. Who knows?

A little embarrassed

Well I never thought I would be one of those fans that bug people on twitter and hope that they answer me back. Who am I kidding? Yes I did.

But guess what?!?!?

I got a reply today! And I just totally had to blog about it.

I'm a little embarrassed to say that I watch Pretty Wicked Moms on lifetime because it is well ridiculous most of the time. So much drama but I can't stop watching it!

I started following a couple of the moms from the show on twitter. I noticed that one of the moms makes an effort to reach out to her fans. So I tweeted her a few days ago...but no reply :(

Today though, I saw that she was on and I tweeted her. And guess what? She responded to my tweet and favorited two of my tweets.
Not true unless there is proof right? Well here it is...

Something Sweet

As you know, I have a little business from home with another lady from work. We have done quite a lot this year and haven't blogged about it. We did really well during Valentine's Day. We made chocolate heart suckers for the elementary school we work at for the PTA to sell as candy grams. We did get some profit from it too. The kids loved them! We only had two molds, each doing only 4 and we ended up making over 500 I think.
We also sold red velvet cupcakes, frosted sugar cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, and boxes of homemade chocolate.

We also sold some stuff for Mother's Day. We sold mini frosted sugar cookies, and edible flower pots.

The pot is a cupcake with fondant around it. The dirt was crushed Oreos and the flower is a large frosted sugar cookie.

We also had the opportunity to make a wedding cake the first weekend of June. It was my first time making a wedding cake. The bottom tier was French vanilla cake with Nutella filling and the top tier was a chocolate cake with raspberry filling. The couple loved how it turned out and we were told that it got a lot of compliments from the guests on the taste and texture. We are so glad that the couple loved the taste and the style of it. We had fun making it.

Go check out our website for more pics on what we have done! www.gotsomethingsweet.com

Happy Birthday Drew!

So Drew's birthday was actually in April but I'm trying to catch up on my past events.
His birthday is April 19th. He turned 24 this year. Holy cow! He will be a quarter next year ;)
Well I decided to kind of go all out this year for him. I made his birthday cake with some help from Kathy. It was a Halo master chief helmet cake. My very first real cake not just cake mix in a pan. I actually carved it myself. No special pan for it or anything. It turned out alright and he could recognize what it was so that's a plus! :)

I also put together a surprise party for him at Buffalo Wild Wings (his favorite restaurant). His family and several friends came. We had a good time with everyone there. Thank you all for coming!
His best friend Dakota went to pick Drew up and from just being parked at our complex for 45 minutes got towed. We are so sorry about that. Sorry Dakota! He ended up spending the night at our apartment and we took him to get his car the following morning.
Well I hope you had a fun birthday Drew! Love you!

Shout Out to Indonesia

I am not that great at blogging which I need to be. I haven't blogged since our Puerto Rico trip and a lot has happened since then but those stories will be for a later date. I know, I'm awful. I apologize.

Anyways, since I am so sucky about posting I also didn't know about the stats and stuff until just now. It was pretty neat seeing my audience as well. And I noticed that somebody in Indonesia checked out my blog. That was pretty neat. Must have been an accident to stumble upon my blog, I'm sure that I must have bored them but hey, they visited my page. Sweet! Sup Indonesia? :)

That is all for tonight. I really should be working on my blog post for class on the teachers blog. Boo!! It is due tomorrow and have not even started on it. Well hopefully I can update you guys on my life tomorrow or sometime this week for sure.

Puerto Rico

Drew is the most hard working man I know. He has such great dedication and motivation, initiative, integrity and all of these great qualities he puts into being a husband and at work.

His hard work earned him a trip of a lifetime and he was able to take me with him! We went to Puerto Rico on March 17 and came back on the 23rd.

On our way to Puerto Rico!

View from the airplane.

The resort we stayed at.

The hotel was amazing! It was so big. We were right on the beach and the hotel had many pools also. It was so beautiful and we were treated so great. Time Warner is the best! They paid for our flights, hotel, activities which I will get to in a minute and all of our food. They had a breakfast buffet every morning and provided us with lunch each day and dinner was always so wonderful and tasty.

Island where we went snorkeling

We were able to pick two activities to do and our first one was snorkeling. It was Drew's first time going and at first he was nervous about breathing through that tube thing but he did awesome! It was so much fun. I wish we would have gotten an underwater camera to take pictures. We saw tons of coral and sea urchins and several fish big and small. We also brought home some coral, shells, rocks we found on the beach.

Beach right off the hotel.

Getting some sun!

The second activity we chose was to go on a tour in Old San Juan. We visited the Capitol building/museum and went to the fort that protects the Capitol and also went shopping in Old San Juan.

Right in front of the Capitol Building.

Museum we went to. That is Christopher Columbus.

The fort we went to.

These guys were just hanging out everywhere.

Taking a picture on the fort.

Beautiful view of part of the fort. The fort was so big.

Shopping in Old San Juan.

Drew had meetings the first couple of days from 8 to noon. While he did that they offered some fun classes to the guests. The first one was a cooking class. That was pretty neat. The second  class was salsa dancing but the instructors were running late so I bailed and went tanning instead. The third day was the Olympics activity. We broke up into groups and had three different events to do. The first one was a sand castle one and there was a chant and then the last one was a bean bag toss and making baskets into this giant hoop with giant beach balls. That was a long but fun day.

Tanning on the beach.

Here is our sand castle thing. It had to do with Time Warner. We did a medal and Drew had to present it.

Well that was pretty much it. We left the resort on Thursday and went to another hotel closer to the airport. We definitely needed those extra two days to just relax. We went to the Museum of Arts of Puerto Rico and walked to the beach and just took it easy those last couple of days.

Part of an exhibit in the museum.

Pond outside the museum filled with koi (sp?) fish.

Look how good Drew looks! ;)

I am so proud of this man. He truly works hard and really cares about Time Warner. He is going to do so well in this company- said by several people he met out on his trip. I agree, he has the potential.

I love you Drew! Thank you for working so hard and being the best husband ever and for giving us the honeymoon that we have been waiting for.

Back in School

Today was my first day of class at UCCS. I thought today was Monday so I went to a different building, which made me a little late to the class I actually was supposed to be in. I am taking two classes this semester. English and math for el ed teachers. I had english today. The teacher seems ok. She seems pretty nice. I do not like English though, so we'll see how I do in this class.
Oh, and I'm used to BYUI where...well you know BYUI. In my class today my teacher swore at least 4 times. I mean I hear swearing around town but it caught me off guard.
I am not looking forward to being in school. I was enjoying just working and not worrying about homework, studying, tests, etc.

I miss BYUI guys :( I never thought I would say that lol. I miss that whole environment. Nice, welcoming, loving. I think it was the comfort of knowing we all had something in common. We all believed the same thing, we all did the same thing on Sundays and Mondays and Tuesdays for devotional lol.

2013

Well it's a new year. I meant to post this weeks ago but didn't get around to it.

2012 was a good year. We got to celebrate our marriage with friends and family. We got a much better apartment. Drew got a lead job at his work. And I got to go back to California!!

2013 is going to be an even better year. Drew and I have a few goals for this year and a few of my own or maybe just one lol. Jenny, I'm sure you know what it is. Our number one goal for this year is to go to the temple together and get sealed. I have been longing for that moment. It is going to be special. We also want to buy a home doesn't have to be a million dollar home but something to start off and then rent it out to someone. We also want to get a new car. My old 91' Oldsmobile is quite a trooper but it doesn't have much left in her. We also want to strengthen our relationship and go on more dates. I found this cute idea on Pinterest and pretty much copied it but came up with some neat dates. Here are some pics of it. I used a scrapbook we bought when we first got married and just used scrapbook paper from Michael's that was on sale and made my own little envelopes from printer paper.

I am looking forward to finding what this new year will bring us. Oh and we are going to Puerto Rico in March! Drew won a trip from his work. I love my husband. He definitely deserves it, he works so hard. Our long awaited honeymoon!

Oh, and I start school this year...this week actually. Boo!
